Could we have an option to save the physical location of POI from the hololens ?
That could be helpful in order to manage all the POI that we can create and avoid any issue if the hololens space are reset.
Why do we have to select a first screen to place IQagent windows and click on the link and then place a second screen to see documentation. Should be easier to see directly the document when clicking on the point of interest or tag (Less click is better). If not possible, why not adding a voice command or a small icon to come back to IQagent after viewing the document.
Save Physical Location: We have it planned to make the placement of POIs and objects global rather than stored on each HoloLens. When a POI or object is placed it will be stored in the iQagent configuration database rather than on the HoloLens. This will allow POIs to be placed Once and then accessed by all users of the system. We hope to have this feature out this year. If it becomes a pressing requirement let me know.
Ease of accessing documentation: When viewing documents, we have to move from the Holographic world on HoloLens and enter the 2D world. This is because there currently isn’t a good way to render a document in Unity that allows good interaction or linking. We have discussed in house ways to improve the experience.
The experience is a little better with office type documents if you download the office reader apps for HoloLens. They can be opened without having to use Edge. But still too many clicks.
One suggestion is to make a 2D POI system, where POIs are 2D and have similar look. This would easily allow quick access to documents, but then, we aren’t in a holographic environment and you lose some of the AR type features.
We are continuing to look at ways to improve the experience. Your voice command suggestion is good, I will discuss with Dev.
